Description
Photograph of four scarlet macaws flying in a flock, lined up in formation in the sky. A texture has been added to the photo to give it a more painterly feel. This was a flock of four parrots flying overhead on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, where they are a common sight. Usually the macaws fly in mated pairs but on this day I saw several flocks of birds enjoying the almonds growing in the trees.
