Description
Despite the peacock's incrediblly colorful iridescent feathers, you will often hear the bird's call before you even see him. As with this peafowl, who was perched on a rustic wooden and calling repeatedly to anyone who would listen, his tail feathers spread out magnificently on the grassy field behind him, his brilliant blue chest puffed out importantly. It made for a compelling and somewhat humorous sight. Photographed in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where the many peacocks roam free undisturbed and roost in the trees at night.
