Description
This is a commissioned portrait of a ginger tabby cat named Peanut. Here is Peanut's heartwarming story, written by his adoptive mom.
"In September 2019 I agreed to foster a mama kitty and three 2-3 month old kittens. Although it was meant to be just over the weekend, I ended up fostering them until February 2020, and they joined my two neutered rescue kitties for form a loving family. Toast, Peanut Butter and Jelly went off to rescue to be adopted. Jelly was adopted within a couple of days, Toast was very social and everyone loved him, but little Peanut Butter shook with fear all day every day while she was in the glass cages. I went to visit Toast and litle Peanut and saw that Peanut was not doing well.People would knock on the window to get her attention and she would turn her back and just shake. She is a very hand shy kitty, who craves attention but finds it hard to look you in the eyes, especially when hands are coming at her. I had her pulled into a temporary foster situation. Eventually she came home to me because the rescue felt they could not find a family for her. She desperately needed a cat family to emerse herself in. She found it here. Although mama does not recognize little Peanut as her own kitten, Toast finally came to see her as his sister, and any day you can find little Peanut snuggled up for a nap with Monet, Severus or Toast or chasing them in and out of all rooms in the house. Mama still swats at her, but little Peanut holds her own and swats back And she comes to me for affection several times a day. She wants a little scratch on the back, or she puts out her cheek (while looking away) so I will rub under her chin, or she pats my leg while I am at the computer to let me know she needs some attention Sometimes having cat buddies and family is the most important thing for a cat. So little Peanut has the cat family she missed so much, and now has forever."
