Description
This is a commissioned portrait of a ginger cat named Toast. This is Toast's heart-warming story, written by his adoptive mother.
"Toast, his two sisters and his mama came to me in September 2019 to foster for "just a couple of days." They had been living on the streets of San Marcos, Texas since they were born and needed some help.
"I ended up fostering until February when all three kittens went off to rescue to hopefully be adopted. Toast was adopted, but it was not the right situation for him - he had no buddy to play with, a dog that was aggressive with him, and he developed biting issues so the family would not touch him.
"The rescue returned him to me and yes, he did bite. I took him to a behaviorist who helped me understand that at one year old, he was just trying to take control of his scary situation, and was not a bad kitty. Within two weeks there was no more biting, and he is a very loving, vocal kitty. He loves having other kitties to play with, and he spends hours out in the catio, rain or shine (although NOT in an ice storm). Toast is home for good."
Day 63 - "A Ginger Cat Named Toast" is my entry on day 63 of Fine Art America's 100 Day Challenge to create a new work each day.
