Description
To pay tribute to my favorite bird, I decided to create a collage of beautiful chestnut-backed chickadees, a small bird that is found where I live (the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada). The collage is made up of photographs of chickadees in winter, either in the snow or on frosty branches, and sometimes next to bright red berries. Very Christmassy! In a couple of shots they have snow on their beaks...they of course eat snow to get their water when everything's frozen.
Can you stand the cuteness? I'm hoping the cute factor doesn't overload your system. I feed the chickadees peanuts from my hand, so sometimes they follow me around. I've even had one go into my pockets in search of the desired nuts. I usually get mobbed by them so I have to keep a full supply of peanuts in my pocket during the winter months.

Thank you, Inge! It is pure magic when a bird eats out of your hand, I agree. If I'm ever down, I go outside and feed the chickadees. I also have a nuthatch that will eat peanuts from my hand. That's extra special!

I love the chickadees - such beautiful birds and such a beautiful collage. Here too they eat from my hand - peanuts - as does the nuthatches. And yes, they greet you when you come out and they do follow you around. Isn't it just magic:)
