Artist's Description
Are sand dollars really lucky? Well, I think so. The sand dollar, also known as a sea biscuit, is a burrowing sea urchin belonging to the order Clypeasteroida. Their intricate designs are always unique. This one was photographed on the shores of 4 Poles Beach in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
This is one of several photographs I have taken of sand dollars at my local beach. All the photographs can be found in my Ocean collection.

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I also enjoy creating collages using vintage ephemera from the late 1800's and early 1900's. My work has been published numerous times in books, magazines, calendars, greeting...
