Are sand dollars really lucky? Well, I think so. The sand dollar, also known as a sea biscuit, is a burrowing sea urchin belonging to the order Clypeasteroida. Their intricate designs are always unique. This one was photographed on the shores of 4 Poles Beach in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
This is one of several photographs I have taken of sand dollars at my local beach. All the photographs can be found in my Ocean collection.
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images.
