Description
Free At Last is a tribute to my artist friend, Diana van Tankeren, who passed away today, February 8, 2021 at age 50. Diana was a longtime online friend who lived in the Netherlands. We sold our work on the same platforms over the years and helped each other out as only two people with similar interests can do...celebrating our successes, complaining and commiserating when things didn't go our way, sharing tips. I always thought of Diana as the hardest-working girl in showbiz...she was relentless in her pursuit of success and worked endless hours in order to achieve it. She was constantly adapting and trying new things. She called herself a pit bull and she really was...I've never known anyone to be so persistent in order to get what they wanted. And she did all this while being in constant physical misery due to many health problems that couldn't be resolved. Yet she never complained, not really, and would only divulge her problems if she was asked. She had an inner resolve like no-one else I've ever known. She was warm-hearted and caring despite the health issues that tormented her. So now she is free at last. Rest in peace, Diana. You will be very much missed.
I thought this flying seagull sailing over the wide-open ocean would be an appropriate image for my tribute to my friend.

A very beautiful, so heart rending, touching, tribute to Diana....my sympathies: a lost FAA Friend is so especially poignant, (I've lost a few, too). f.v. VIVAđź’—
