Description
An Anna's hummingbird contemplates his predicament of freshly-fallen snow in winter. Anna's hummingbirds over-winter here in British Columbia, Canada and lucky for them it doesn't snow too often. However, when it does, the little ones can be found nestled in thickets of bushes that we have in our yard. And they can always sip on the nectar from the hummingbird feeders we have around the house.

Beautiful and unique capture! It certainly is rare to see a hummingbird in snow. Hope she survived the weather.
Peggy Collins replied:
Thank you, Carol. I keep an eye on them and they always seem to make it through. I put cut-off woolen socks around the hummingbird feeders to keep them from freezing during the day and bring them in at night. Gotta take care of our little ones!

Peggy Collins replied:
Thank you, Angela! I feel so sorry for the little guys but usually the snow doesn't last long and they seem able to deal with it.
