A herd of Roosevelt elk cows stands in the snow by bare blackberry bushes at the edge of a forest, watching me carefully while decided whether or not I'm to be trusted. I would see herds of elk often during my hikes on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada, and they came to know and trust me. "The Girls" as we often called them, would most often be seen without an accompanying bull elk until the fall mating season when one or two males would be standing guard over the herd. Female elk can weight around 500 pounds while the males reach in the neighborhood of 700 pounds.
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments.
