Photograph of a northern flicker perched on a handwoven basket on my back deck. Red-shafted flickers (a kind of woodpecker) would often visit my back yard and help themselves to blocks of suet or bird seed. A watercolor effect has been added to my original photograph to give it a more painterly appeal.

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments.
