Artwork of a family of chestnut-backed chickadees, with the mother bird about to feed one of the two hungry baby birds with their beaks open and their wings quivering in anticipation. I have added a watercolor effect to my original photograph which was taken on the branch of a tree in my back yard where the chickadees often gathered when visiting my bird feeders. Mom used to bring her babies around regularly to get a bit of a break in their very demanding feeding schedule.

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments. I also enjoy creating collages using vintage ephemera from the late 1800's and early 1900's. My work has been published numerous times in books, magazines, calendars, greeting...
