Artist's Description
Meet Riley, a brown tabby cat of Irish descent. How do we know Riley is Irish? Because he has nine lives and therefore he has the luck of the Irish, that's how. Plus, I forgot to mention, Riley is covered in Celtic knots and always poses on a background of the same. Riley loves to eat and play, in that order. He has found his niche in life, which is to be petted endlessly by his adoring mom and dad. Riley's portrait is done in tones of brown, reddish brown, burnt orange, gold and beige.
This is one of several variations of Riley with his special Celtic knots.
Won 1st place in FAA's Celtic Symbol contest, March, 2020.
About Peggy Collins
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments. I also enjoy creating collages using vintage ephemera from the late 1800's and early 1900's. My work has been published numerous times in books, magazines, calendars, greeting...
