Description
Photograph of a male Anna's hummingbird sitting on a branch, its beak open as it tells me off (or at least that's how I look at it), flashing the beautiful vivid colors of his head and gorget (throat). This winter on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, we have had far more snow than is usual...at the time I took this photograph, over 12 inches of snow had just fallen. I had two hummingbirds (one male and one female) asserting their territorial rights over the two feeders in my yard.
I have added textures to my original hummer photograph to give the image a more painterly quality. Another version is also available without the added textures.
