I was pretty excited when I saw two black bears playing behind some ironwood bushes. They didn't even seem to notice me standing on a logging road nearby. Seconds later they came out from behind the bushes, reared up on their hind legs, and started to wrestle. They look like they're either dancing or hugging in this shot. The photograph was taken on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada, and it is part of a series of images I took of the two bears.
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images.
