Artist's Description
My jaw dropped when I saw these two big black bears wrestling each other, seemingly oblivious to me standing fairly close by on an open logging road. At first they were behind the oceanspray bushes but they soon continued to play in front of the bushes, much to my delight. It was raining lightly and as you can see, the bears are dripping wet. This is one of the first shots I took of the two bears and it is part of a series. The photograph was taken in Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada.
About Peggy Collins
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments. I also enjoy creating collages using vintage ephemera from the late 1800's and early 1900's. My work has been published numerous times in books, magazines, calendars, greeting...
