Description
Photograph of two baby rufous hummingbirds in a nest on a branch of a cedar tree in the forest. The baby hummers are head to head with their beaks crossed like two swords. Their beautiful nest is made of lichen and moss and is well camouflaged in the green forest with cedar boughs hanging down. A customer led me to this nest and surprisingly, it was at eye level on a path, within plain sight...however several people walked by and never noticed a thing. The nest itself was a little larger than a golf ball. I visited the baby hummingbirds several times and have a series of photographs of the family.

Peggy, what a fantastic shot!!! It's a rarity to be able to even find their tiny nests, but to get a shot like this is just above and beyond! And congrats on your well-deserved multiple features. L/F
