Two bald eagles are escorted by a flock of seagulls as they fly over the beach in Comox on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, during the herring spawn. I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Great capture Peggy. Wonder if we were both there. I spent some time photographing the spawn there this year too. There were sooo many eagles and you capture this well.
Peggy Collins replied:
Thanks, Inge! This was actually taken last year. We missed the spawn totally this year unfortunately. Even went over to Hornby Island, got snowed on, and didn't see a thing except for a few eagles.
