Photograph of a white pigeon with a painted textured background in various shades of green. This is a closeup picture of a tame white pigeon that spent a week roosting on my back deck. When he first showed up, I didn't want to feed him because I thought I'd end up with a bunch of pigeons on my deck. But he quickly won me over. He would walk right up to me and poke around my feet. So I started feeding him, leaving seeds on the wooden deck railing. He wasn't at all afraid of me, and I wondered if he was somebody's pet. He slept on a basket that was attached to the wall right outside the door. He'd leave for awhile during the day but spent hours just hanging out. And then one day he was gone. I sure missed him. I called him Pidge.
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments.
