Photograph of a pair of bald eagles sitting on a barnacled driftwood log partially submerged in the Little Qualicum River Estuary by the ocean's beach in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. A watercolor effect has been added to my original photograph. This is the eagles' fishing spot...they always seem to be perched here as the tide goes out and when it does, one of them will dive right into the water to catch it. I often see a heron directly behind them in its choice fishing spot. The open beach is just to the right in this image.
