This tall fir tree survived the clearcut and stand proud against a backdrop of clouds, mountains and distant forest. This tree can be found at the end of an hour-long hike along a trail in the forest that meanders past several waterfalls and even an old homestead that is now falling down. The reward at the end of the hike is peace and tranquility and a view that goes on for miles. Photographed on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada, around Homesite Creek.
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. Thanks very much, Maria! Yes, it was an amazing moment. Had to hike through forest and bush for about 45 minutes to reach this beauty. There was an active osprey nest nearby too. Had to watch out for bears! All in all a perfect place for a nature photographer!
