Description
Artwork of a sugar skull decorated with red and pink roses and daisies in the eyes, in order to celebrate the Mexican holiday of the Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos) where families gather in prayer and remembrance of friends and family members who have died. Typically celebrated between October 31st and November 2nd, the tradition is a blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion, and Spanish culture when people welcome the return of deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration.
The background to the image is a dark red, blue-purple with a simulated watercolor paper texture.
This artwork is part of a growing collection of sugar skulls.
