Description
Closeup photograph of a Steller's Jay posing in a snowy tree in winter. You can tell he's been eating snow because he has a dusting on his beak and a little on the blue feathers of his chest. These lively and loud jays were frequent visitors to my backyard on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, and major raiders of the bird seed feeders I had hanging there. Steller's Jays were frequent visitors to my bird feeders when I lived on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia in western Canada. Steller's Jays can be found in coniferous forests where you'll often hear their squawking calls. I'm pretty sure that the jays that weren't in the forest were all over at my place, begging for peanuts and emptying the bird feeder of seed in record time.
