Description
Closeup photograph of a squirrel standing on an evergreen tree checking me out. This is a Douglas squirrel which is native to British Columbia. There are no gray squirrels on the Sunshine Coast (where this squirrel was photographed). Grays drive out and overtake the native Douglas squirrel, which is smaller in size. Douglas squirrels (aka pine squirrels) live in coniferous forest habitats along the Pacific Coast.
