Description
Photograph of a pair of snowy owls sitting on a piece of driftwood on the beach at Boundary Bay, British Columbia, Canada. This photograph was taken in 2012 when there was an eruption of snowies in the area. This was the first time I'd ever seen snowy owls and there were about 30 of them on the beach, so it was quite an experience. Mostly the owls sat in pairs or small groups and didn't move unless a photographer got too close. Snowy owls eat rodents and hunt mostly at dusk and dawn, flying over the fields in search of tasty treats.
