Artist's Description
A huge bouquet of pink and white peonies fresh from my garden. The flowers delicate petals are glowing with a sprinkling of rain drops. The peony is a perennial flower native to Asia, Europe and Western North America. In the spring their blossoms are covered with ants that are busy drinking the nectar from the buds. Ants also help protect the blossoms from other floral feeding insects. I was delighted to find plant after plant growing in the garden when I moved into a new home in the spring, their colors ranging from white to pink to dark rose. I have digitally painted my original photograph to give it a watercolor effect.

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images.
