Photo painting of a group of people painting the traditional Roberts Creek mandala in 2012 in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. A community effort, the tradition of painting a mandala by the ocean was started in 1997 in order to cover up some negative graffiti in the parking lot by the beach after Robert Creek Daze and became a yearly ritual ever since when the community comes together to paint the sections of the mandala that have been laid out.
This photograph was taken in 2012 when the mandala was an owl. A painterly effect has been added to my original photo.
Day 2 - "Painting the Roberts Creek Mandala" is my entry on day two of Fine Art America's challenge to create a new work for three consecutive days with the theme of "perspective".
