Description
Gigantic old growth coastal Douglas fir trees stretch to the sky in the Heritage Forest located in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This forest is an ecological reserve on 50 acres of land with several trails winding through ancient trees including coastal douglas fir, western red cedar, hemlock, grand fir, and Sitka spruce as well as rare and endangered plants. The forest is a treasure located a five-minute walk from the town of Qualicum Beach. My original photograph has been digitally painted with a watercolor effect.
Day 30 - This forest image is my 30th entry in Fine Art America's 100 Day challenge to create a work a day.
