A mourning dove with his feathers puffed up warms himself in the falling snow. Mourning doves are plentiful in my Mom's backyard all year long but they seem to hang out closer to the house in winter especially. They even sit in or on top of the bird feeder that's attached to the glass door...I think it's probably warmer there.
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature.
