Description
A lone fir tree stands tall against a backdrop of distant mountains and a dramatic cloudy sky in this vertical landscape. I hiked through the forest for about 45 minutes past waterfalls and an abandoned homesite to get to this spot where the trees thinned out by the ocean. Behind me was another tall tree with an osprey nest tucked into the branches at the top. This scene was photographed in Homesite Creek on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. I used a timelapse technique to photograph this majestic fir tree and combined about 70 images of the swiftly-moving clouds to get this end result.
