Photograph of a male Anna's hummingbird sitting on a budding branch of a honeysuckle bush in winter. I have added a painted soft pastel background in colors of pink, green and yellow and a light canvas texture. Anna's hummers spend the winter on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada, where it is normally fairly temperate however this past winter we got major snowstorms and below freezing temperatures for weeks at a time. The hummingbirds stayed close to the feeders, puffed up, trying to stay warm.

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments.
