I was hoping this family of twin deer fawns and their mother were going to take an early morning dip in the ocean at low tide but they only gazed out at the water for a moment before one of the fawns was startled by a noise from above. I was standing on a nearby dock and the fawns came running towards me. They got very close but I didn't want to move to take their picture because I didn't want to frighten them again. The deer often go down to the ocean's shore at low tide to drink the salt water.
I'd been getting tantalizing glimpses of this trio of black-tailed deer but they always managed to allude me before I could get a shot. This was my lucky day, however, because they walked down to the shore as if I wasn't even there.
