Impressionistic image of California poppy seed pods growing in my garden. I find the seed pods of poppies to be quite fascinating in their design. We have wildflowers growing here and there and everywhere in our yard and the California poppy is especially hardy, coming up between gravel and the cracks in the pavement, thriving wherever it pleases.This painterly abstract based on my original photograph is rendered in tones of red, white and blue.

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments.
