Artist's Description

Photograph of a baby beaver eating a maple leaf in the marsh at Iris Griffith Wetlands Park in Madeira Park on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. This was one of two babies born to the beaver parents who took up residence in the bog. I was surprised to discover that when baby beavers cry, they sound remarkably like human babies. The whole family wasn't shy at all around people, giving some of us a great opportunity for photographs.
