Artist's Description
I've learned that when I hear robins chirply madly, obviously upset, that there is always an owl nearby. I heard a commotion while hiking in the early morning and found two robins dive-bombing a roosting barred owl, tucked in amongst the maple trees. No matter how often the robins attacked the owl, he remained undisturbed and barely even bothered to open his eyes. The owl flew away after about half an hour of this rude treatment but the robins were in hot pursuit and I could hear them continue their tirade in the middle of the woods.
About Peggy Collins
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. Great capture! I am always on the lookout for owls but can never find them. I will look for upset robins!
Peggy Collins replied:
Thanks, Kristia. They are usually pretty well camouflaged but using your ears primarily will really increase your odds of seeing an owl!
