Artist's Description
This is a commissioned portrait of a black cat named Stripes (nicknamed Runt), done in a colorful stained glass style. Here is what his owner has to say about him:
"He was born here at the apartments. There was a hole in the dry wall and one day my roommate said have u seen the kittens over by the garbage area? I went outside and there was Stripes and his sister. Their Mom was nowhere. I dont know if she died or what. Well I began feeding them daily. They would hide until eventually they knew my voice and that meant food. My husband let me keep Stripes and we got his twin sister adopted. He is always close to me, loves to cuddle too!"
This is one of several versions of this handsome kitty.
About Peggy Collins

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments. I also enjoy creating collages using vintage ephemera from the late 1800's and early 1900's. My work has been published numerous times in books, magazines, calendars, greeting...
