Photograph of a coyote pup in a field with long grasses and yellow dandelions. The young coyote is looking over his shoulder in this wildlife picture. This pup was one of five baby coyotes born in an urban area, right off a fairly busy street on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. The coyotes' den was in a patch of blackberry bushes which were behind a fenced deserted parking lot. I had the opportunity to watch the baby coyotes playing during several visits to the family, although I never saw either parent. I'm guessing that the young one is about six weeks old in this image.
I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments.
