Description
Photograph of a cluster of starfish and seaweed taken at low tide in Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The colorful purple and pink starfish are heaped together on boulders encrusted with barnacles, left behind as the ocean changes tides. Sea stars have been dying at an alarming rate in the Salish Sea and beyond in the past year...in fact, it's estimated that 95% of the population has died off from a mysterious ailment, likely a type of virus.
