Description
It's a bit of a challenge to reach this waterfall in Costa Rica, or at least it's a challenge leaving it because you have to climb some steep rope ladders to get back to level ground. I was alone the first time I visited this waterfall, and since it was a day after my arrival in Costa Rica, I wasn't yet used to the climate. The heat and humidity of the jungle was intense and especially oppressive when climbing. I was quite proud of myself after I made my way back to my room but then I started to feel awfully peculiar...my head and heart were pounding and I broke out into a cold sweat. I took a cold shower and went to bed for a couple of hours. Afterwards I realized I had heat stroke. Now I know to take it easy the first day or so when you first arrive in a tropical climate. Anyway, seeing the waterfall was worth a mild case of heat stroke!
